You Won’t Be So Unorganised After Reading This Blog Post!
Are you a bit unorganised? Or if you’re truthful with yourself, are you really unorganised? Don’t worry! In this article we look at some simple ways you can get yourself together from buying a key box to using a calendar.
When you ask someone what their weakness is, I’m sure that a lot of people will be quick to give you one answer: they are unorganised!
Even though being organised is super important in most aspects of life, especially when we are busy in the office, it is still something that a lot of people struggle with. Most will simply laugh at this weakness and not let it get them down – they believe that there is little they can do about it, and that they will just stay an unorganised person for life. Thankfully, though, that isn’t the case and you aren’t always stuck with your poor organisational skills!
Ready to improve things and get organised? Here are some great ways to do just that!
Keep Lots Of Lists And Notes
Do you find that you keep on forgetting things, and this adds to your unorganised nature? Don’t worry if this is the case, as you can easily get around it by simply writing down lists and notes.
Each morning, you should sit down and take the time to write a to-do list. This way, you won’t ever forget what needs to be done each day. It’s also a good idea to keep on making notes throughout the day as you think of things that need to be done.
You’ll find that writing things down as you think of things will make you a lot less forgetful, which will be far easier to improve all the organisation in your life
Stop Procrastinating
Do you keep on putting off important tasks, such as cleaning the house, calling to dentist to make an appointment, replying to your emails, or scheduling all of your weekly meetings?
It’s really no good continually putting off these tasks as that could mean you end up rushing them when you finally do get round to them. And that’s not the best way to deal with any of the important jobs you need to do! So, try and stop procrastinating.
This might be difficult to do if it is a habit that you’ve had for quite a while, but that doesn’t mean it will be completely impossible to break out of it. Try and use the two-minute rule to stop procrastinating so much. You should find that this is a big help!
Use Schedules And Diaries
There are different ways people struggle with being unorganised, and some people find that they have trouble planning their lives and end up double booking themselves with various meetings and appointments. This is very often the case with people who are extremely busy in work and at home. They can often lose track of everything that is going on in their lives!
Thankfully, there are a few different online schedule tools and platforms that can help you. Using a shift planner will make it easier scheduling your work and any important meetings that you need to attend. If you want to better plan all of your social engagements and events, you could use Google Calendar as this can be easily synced to all your laptops, smartphones, and mobile devices.
You might prefer to buy a proper diary, though – some people love jotting down all of their upcoming events in these smart little books!
Everything Needs A Home
Do you keep on losing things and misplacing your belongings? The best way around this is to give everything you own a home and make sure that it is always in its home when you aren’t using it. By doing this, you will never have to search around your home for your car keys or mobile phone ever again!
For example, you could buy a wall key holder on which you can hang all of your keys. Put this on the wall by your front door so that you can quickly grab your keys as you leave the house. You could always leave your mobile phone on a side table by the sofa.
Once everything has its own home in your house, you will find that things go missing a lot less frequently than they once did!
Declutter Your Home
Not everyone is unorganised in planning, though. You might be the kind of unorganised that means your house is a complete mess all the time! Think it is time you got your home in order? That will be easy to do, no matter how much of a tip it might be right now!
The best thing you can do is to get on with all the cleaning and tidying that needs to be done. As we’ve previously mentioned, you really shouldn’t procrastinate as this will just mean all the work keeps on getting put off. You will have to face it one day so you might as well do so now!
If you find that all this cleaning is taking a lot of your spare time, you should try and reduce all the clutter you have. Go through all your stuff and sort out all the things that you don’t really need anymore. You can take them to a charity shop, sell them online, or take them to your nearest recycling centre.
Colour Code Paperwork
If you are someone who regularly seems to drown under a sea of paperwork, there is one secret that could really help you out next time you have to do some important filing. You just need to colour code all of your paperwork. This will be especially useful to everyone out there who identifies as a visual person. If this works well, you might even want to colour code your calendar and diary so that you can quickly see which of your appointments and meetings are work-related or social. You will find that most online calendars and schedules also give you the chance to colour code all of your entries.
As you can see, there are many great tips that can help all of the unorganized people out there sort out their lives and home life for the better! Do you have any other handy tips? Let us know; We’d love to hear them!
