And before you know it, the days are a lot warmer and the evenings last a little longer. So it’s always good to make sure that you’re getting in their early and staying on top of your health. From feeling great to looking better, right now is where you want to put the work in. Because spring is firmly here, but summer is just around the corner. So how are you going to do it?

It’s not enough to just expect to be healthy – you really have to work at it. No matter what healthy looks like to you, it has to be something that you actually really try for. This means you’re going to want to really put the work in to take care of your physical and mental health, your fitness levels, and a couple of other extras – just for good measure. So let’s take a look at what you can do to make it happen.

Drink More Water

No surprises here, but we’re going to kick off with the one thing that will help your health the most – and not just in summer. Drinking water and staying hydrated is so essential to keeping yourself healthy. And we always have to drink more during the summer. When the weather warms up, we get more active, and we’re sweating a bit more, you have to replenish. So keep a bottle of water around to help you rehydrate.

Get Some Sleep

Next to water, sleep is also the next essential that’s going to help you to look and feel your best. They don’t call it beauty sleep for nothing! So if you want to look good and feel it too, you need to get at least seven hours of solid sleep each night. When you do, your body can heal, you’ll feel energized, and you’ll lose the bags too!

Get Some Fresh Air

And because we’re talking about the summer months, you probably won’t need any motivation for this one, but you do need to get out more. There are so many benefits to fresh air – so lap ‘em up. Your energy levels, immune system, and mood will get a boost and your skin will thank you for it too!

If you’ve been used to being a little lazier over the winter months, then now’s the time to shake that up a little. Because if you’re going to really work on your health, you have to get moving. Luckily for us all, it’s actually quite easy to be more active. If you can commit to walking more than driving (or parking further away if you really do have to drive, taking the stairs, and even getting up and walking about throughout the day, you’ll be doing your health a world of good.

Focus On Greens

Now we need to talk about food. Because you can actually eat your way to better health levels. When you’re eating more greens, you’ll notice a difference in how your body feels (and looks too)! Even if you don’t really want to change your diet too much, by making sure that you eat your greens – and any other veggies or fruit, you’ll be boosting your body and helping your health.

So, you know you need to be eating those greens, enjoying fruit as well as veggies, and trying to stay away from the bad stuff – but you’re only human. It’s not always going to be possible for you to avoid pizza or burgers or chocolate or whatever your weakness may be. And don’t torture yourself. Definitely indulge, but do it wisely. Try to stick to clean, whole foods 80% of the time, and let yourself enjoy what you like for the remaining 20%.

Take Your Supplements

If you don’t think that your diet is rich enough in vitamins and minerals, then you’re also going to want to supplement. Omegas and vitamin D are often two supplements that many of us will want to take to help our health. But a multivitamin and vitamin C supplement can also give you good all round benefits too.

Get Your Shots

If you’re heading on vacation this year, then you are going to want to get yourself some shots. If you’re staying in the country, then you may not have to worry about this. But if you’re heading overseas, speak to your doctor to see what shots you’re going to need to stay healthy.

If you think we’re going to stay lecturing you about sunscreen, then you’ve skipped a step – because that’s up next. No, right now, we’re talking about sexual protection! In the winter, we all love to hibernate a little more than normal. It’s cold, dark, and nobody really wants to be going outside – but that’s okay. Because we sure do makeup for it in the summer months. If you’re someone that loves to enjoy summer evenings like never before, then you’ll probably look forward to late nights and early mornings for the next few months. But remember, this can take its toll on your health. So if you are having a few wild ones, try to balance things out a bit more by having a few early nights.
