Welcome to this week’s round-up, I hope you’ve had a fun and productive week. This week we look at what the most popular home improvements are, why online reviews are so important to your business/brand and how you can get them and we list the spookiest areas of the UK for you to visit this coming Halloween.
What Americans Are Building According To Google – Big Rentz
We all love home improvement – well, most of us anyway! If you’re lucky enough to own your own home or are in a rental you can modify then you may have loads of ideas for things you want to improve once the winter’s over. If you’re not sure what you should be adding to your home how about checking out what other people are doing? I’m thinking a fire pit would be a nice addition to my patio area!
What Is Mobile Marketing? Your Introduction To Marketing For Mobile – AppInstitute
If you run your own business I’m sure you’ll recognise the importance of marketing but are you missing out on a big opportunity? More people are now using their mobiles to access websites and traditional methods of marketing may not work on a smaller screen – how many times to you get an overlay sign-up popup that you can’t close because it’s not mobile friendly? In this article AppInstitute looks at what mobile marketing is, why it’s important and how you can implement within your existing marketing strategy.
Profit Per Employee: How Much Do The World’s Most Successful Tech Companies Make Per Employee? – PostBeyond
A lot of financial reports look at a company’s overall profits, but how about looking at this metric in a slightly different way? PostBeyond looks at the companies such as Apple and Facebook and then drills down to profits on a per employee level – just because your overall profit isn’t high doesn’t mean that your employees aren’t giving you a great return on investment.
How To Get More Positive Online Reviews (And Deal With The Negative) – Valpak
I don’t know about you but when I’m shopping online I’ll always check the reviews to see what other people’s experiences are and I’ll often buy a more expensive item if the reviews are more favourable. The thing is, I rarely leave a review myself. I am trying to change this – after all if I rely on reviews, it’s only fair I add them too – but sometimes it just doesn’t feel worth it. In this article Valpak looks at how you can get people like me to leave a review and how you can deal with bad ones.
Bringing Luck Into Your Home From Around The World – Terrys Fabrics
From elephants and cats to bamboo and painted eggs: there are a veriety of fun, colourful and interesting ways to draw luck into your home. Even if you’re not a big believer in “luck”, some of the items highlighted by Terrys Fabrics will make for an interesting centrepiece or talking point if nothing else!
Halloween Pumpkin Brain Teasers, Spot The Poker Chips – Party Casino
These teasers can really infuriate me! They’re either so ridiculously easy you don’t know why you bothered or so ridiculously hard you don’t know why you bothered! This is is somewhere in the middle (and also has some easier versions in case you get stuck) – I wouldn’t bother checking it out if you’re colour blind though!
Mapped: UK’s Spookiest Places Protection Supplies
A couple of miles from where I live here in the UK is a crossroads and in the middle of it stands the stump of a hangman’s tree. People say that they can still see the ghosts of hung sheep rustlers and other criminals roaming the road at night, not knowing the way home thanks to the crossroads. While this might be spooky it has nothing on some of the other things that go on in the UK! The Ancient Ram Inn sounds like a fantastic place to spend Halloween – let me know if you decide to try it out!
