Turn Off The Water
If you don’t already know where your water shutoff valve is, go find it now.
Turn On One Of The Taps
This will flush the lines of most of the remaining water in your pipes.
Soak Up The Water
To the best of your ability, remove as much water as you can. This will prevent the moisture damage from spreading more than it already has.
Dry Out The House
The last thing you want is for mold to start growing. Depending on the season, you can either open up all the doors and windows, or blast the heat. If the water damage is contained to one spot, grab a hair dryer or utility fan to dry it up.
